INTRODUCTION

STUDY CONTEXT AND CONTEXTUALITY

As more and more areas are placed under lockdown or shutdown to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, the whole planet is coming to a grinding stop. The Internet has emerged as the world's nerve system in this dark and tough scenario, connecting education, business, healthcare, and the general public like never before. Virtual meetings, virtual conferences, and eLearning aren't new discoveries; far from it. But in the span of only a few weeks, the globe has gone from face-to-face encounters to virtual ones. Aside from streaming and gaming, even religious and artistic organizations are providing content to their constituents and the general public over the internet.

Of light of the growth in COVID-19 instances, subscription packages are on the rise again, particularly since customers are spending more time at home under lockdown. However, customers will have more options and power with this new generation of bundling. This year alone has seen the introduction of new streaming services such as Apple TV+, Disney Plus, HBO Max, and Peacock. However, subscription packages are affecting more than just the streaming market. Players like Apple and Amazon are also using them to provide more comprehensive subscription plans for a variety of services.

OUTLINE OF THE ISSUE

There was an increase in business for cable providers due to the rise in the number of covid cases and the lockdown being completely enforced.

Cable providers saw a rise in income as a result of the high subscriber rate.

Multichoice(dstv) gave 1.2 billion naira to the federal government's battle against covid 19 in Nigeria, according to reports. As a result, several Nigerians requested free cable subscriptions from DSTV after the contribution, arguing that the donation was pointless since the people would not see any difference and that there was a possibility of a price increase.

PURPOSE OF THE EXPERIMENT

These are the most important things we want to learn from this investigation:

Covid 19's lockout and the number of new cable customers are being studied.

In order to see whether the lockdown resulted in an increase in the number of cable customers.

IMITATIONS IN RESEARCH

Researchers and students will also find this study useful.

RADIUS OF INTEREST IN THIS ASSESSMENT

Using Lagos residents as a sample, this study aims to determine whether or if a cable subscription is associated with a covid19 lockdown.

THE RESTRICTIONS OF THIS STUDY

The inability to get necessary materials, as well as a lack of funding and time, were important roadblocks in this investigation.
